Nicolites, one of the UKs top online retailers of electronic cigarette products and accessories, has announced a substantial rise in sales of late and is quick to place this recent success down to a clear increase in demand for smoke-free cigarettes.
Although sceptical at first, it seems that smokers are rapidly coming round to the idea of electronic cigarettes and as a consequence web-based e cigarette company Nicolites is happy to announce a noticeable spike in sales throughout the last quarter.
Electronic cigarettes are sold to smokers as a healthier alternative to traditional cigarettes. E cigarette manufacturers claim that they contain none of the 4000 chemicals associated with tobacco cigarettes, and although taste and feel similar to the real thing, they are in fact cleaner, safer and also cheaper in comparison to real cigarettes.
It seems that retailers are fast to move with the times, quickly clearing the front of their counters to make way for new electronic cigarette displays. Retailers such as pharmacies, convenience stores, newsagents and petrol stations now stock these innovative smoking alternatives, and sales have reported to grow consistently throughout 2011 into the new-year.
Every day we are getting queries from new retailers asking how they can get hold of our products, explains Managing Director Nikhil Nathwani at Nicolites. Its clear to them that there is a huge potential here.”
Nikhil says, “Retailers play an important role in the growth of this industry. Whilst many smokers have initially purchased their e cigarette online, if you think of the buying process of a smoker, they are used to being able to walk in to their nearest convenience store or petrol station and pick up a pack of cigarettes. Our aim is to replicate this buying process for Electronic Cigarettes too.
The Nicolites website currently features a stockist locator that will direct customers to their nearest retailer once they enter their postcode. It currently directs an average of 250 customers to retailers close by every single day, and it seems this is having a significant effect on sales through these retailers.
